Search engine optimisation

Show up when someone searches for what you sell.

That is Google SEO. The page says the thing you sell, in the words a customer would type. If you work in a city, the city is on that page too.

A person stops at a shop door.

What you get

  • One page per service. The title and the main heading name that service.
  • If you serve a city, the city is in the title too. A plumber in Parramatta does not get a page that never says Parramatta.
  • The Google Business Profile uses the same business name, phone number and address as the website. If those three do not match, Google gets confused.
  • One main category on that profile. Extra categories only when they are actually what you do.
  • A map on the site only when the address is a real one.
  • The site loads on a phone, uses HTTPS, and has a sitemap so Google can find the pages.

There is no promise of first place. Google decides the order. A date for “page one” is a guess.

What stays off the page

Bought links, copied pages, fake reviews, and a city you do not work in. A made-up address can rank for a week and then become the problem.

Ads are a different job

This page is the free listing. Google Ads is the listing you pay for per click. Meta ads reach people on Facebook and Instagram who were not searching. The words should match across all three.

How it starts

You say what you sell, and the city if there is one. The plan says which pages to write, what to put on the Google listing, and what to leave alone. You see that plan before anything is rewritten.
